Plod and Pedal Gobble Hobble 8k and Cycle Waddle 24k
Every Thanksgiving, the average American will consume somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000-5000 calories on Turkey day. The majority of that day is made up of scurrying around the kitchen and sitting on the couch taking in one of the favorite American pastimes, NFL football. However, Americans also flock (pun intended) to roads and trails to partake in another American pastime, the annual Turkey Trot. And Trot we do. In 2017 nearly 1 million people gobbled up the miles that year prior to feasting on that magnificent bird. So, get out there and get your waddle on and see if we can break the million person barrier! Josh and I encourage each of you to seek out and join the fun of your local Turkey Trot. If you haven’t done one, they’re a ton of fun. For those of you in the local area, the Missoula event through Run Wild Missoula (link below) is amazing and don’t forget to bring a non-perishable item for the food bank.
This November challenge must take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, 2021. You must run or ride 8k or 24k, respectively. At least one running mile must be within the 15 min/mile pace. The winner will receive the $50 prize. If you see an actual real turkey on your run you’ll be eligible for another prize. Megan Adams, one of our multi year plod and pedalers, has graciously volunteered to donate a couple bottles of her Killer Kitten hot sauce. It’s damn amazing! Once you’ve completed the activity, sign up for the event and tag @joshpierce and @ryanmellem in the comments. As always, have fun, be safe and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
