Repeating History
Let's face it. If you've made it this far in the year, you're likely a dedicated creature of habit. You typically fit into the "I want to get it done early" camp or the "I still have to get in my F*#%ing mile" camp. Now, arguably, there are some of you free spirited folks who buck the trend and don't fit the mold. You variable time of day runners are truly an odd bunch. Honestly, there's probably something really wrong with you, but we'll continue to watch your happy-go-lucky chaos with anxiety fueled disdain. Truthfully though, isn't that a type of habit as well? In general, most of our lives are wash, rinse, and repeat. We've been at this Plod and Pedal gig for 6 years now, so we're pretty good at repeating things over and over again. If something is dumb the first time, you should probably validate and verify, we always say. This months challenge is a classic (who doesn't love classics?), a personal favorite of the Josh's, and the 2nd most dreaded day of the running calendar for me. However, secretly, I look forward to this challenge every year. This months challenge is the epitome of anything worth doing is worth overdoing. Welcome to Reptember!
This September find your favorite hill and do at least 9 hill repeats. You must get at least 500 ft of vertical with the repeats (total, not per lap). For anyone doing over 1000 ft. (total), of repeats, you'll get a fresh pair of Plod and Pedal Socks. Although, Josh always says size doesn’t matter, find your nemesis hill or the coolest hill in town and give it a go. This one has to be done OUTSIDE as well. You can do it on your bike or do it on your feet. Once again, tag Josh Pierce and Ryan Mellem in the comment section of your activity and sign up for the monthly challenge. We will draw one winner for the monthly prize. As always, have fun, be safe, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
