Thankful Servings
Let’s face it, we live in a pretty amazing country. Sure, right now it’s taking some lumps, but regardless of political affiliation I think we can all agree on a few fundamentals. First, we should all be thankful that we live in the most prosperous country in the world. Does it have its struggles and hardships? You bet. But we have heat for our homes, clean water to drink, and access to opportunities that a large swath of the roughly 7 billion humans on planet earth will never have. Secondly, I think we can largely agree that we should be thankful for those who have served our country in times of peace and times of war. Without our veterans, I think our lives could, dare I say would, be dramatically different.
This month we have a dual challenge:
Veterans day is November 11th. Your challenge is to run/ride 11k (33k for you bikers) without a veteran/service member OR run at least 1 mile with a current military servicemen or veteran. Anyone completing this task ON November 11th will receive some FREE Plod and Pedal socks. Make sure to tag Josh and I in the comments section of the post and include your shoe size.
Thanksgiving Day is November 24th. We know you all have big plans for the day, be it hunting, cooking, or just throwing a few cold ones back and watching football. Though, who doesn’t like to get a bit of activity on the biggest feasting day of the year? As such, Josh and I would like to help you make some room. Your challenge is to run 8K (or bike 24K) on Turkey Day (November 24th). One of the best ways to get it done is to join in on your local Thanksgiving day running event. We’d love to see the pics of your activities so post them and we’ll make an Instagram Post out of it. We’ll select one winner at random for this November challenge.
Josh and I are thankful that you all are still here and hammering away. As always, have fun, be safe, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing!
