Ain't No Party Like A Holiday Party

Welcome to the final challenge of 2023. If history serves as a guide, at least one of us will crash and burn this month. Nearly every year one of the Plod and Pedal crew forgets to put their mile in around the holidays. There's nothing like running at least 335+ days just to fail in the home stretch. Maybe you hit the spiked egg nog a little to vigorously at the company Christmas party. Or maybe the kids get put to bed early and romance gets the better of you (yeah, that actually happened). Or maybe, just maybe its the coldness of winter setting in. Lucky for you all, one of the time honored traditions of the Christmas holiday season is none other than a good ol' fashioned ugly sweater party. Half of the Plod and Pedal founders always looks like a dork on a run so I doubt wearing an ugly sweater and looking like a goober will phase Josh. I, on the other hand, am pledging to step out of my normal, dare I say, handsome (why yes I do say...) appearance to don that festive gear and hit the trail.

The final challenge for 2023 will be a 10k (6.2 mile) run or 30k (18.6 mile) bike ride. This event must be completed by Sunday, December 24th, 2023. While we can't all get together in person, we can virtually laugh at the sweet cotton and polyester blended beauty decorating your torso. As such, you're going to also need to upload a picture of yourself in the sweater to qualify for the drawing. Don't forget to tag @joshpierce and @ryanmellem in the activity. We will draw one winner at random for the monthly prize.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you for joining us this year and in the years past. We've met some pretty amazing people throughout the years and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the group. It's not always fun and it's not always easy, but anything easy is very seldom worth doing. Life is busy for all of us and we don't get to say thank you enough, but we love watching you all hammer away every day. Either you're all a bit crazy or just too stubborn to quit. One thing is certain, you are all definitely rad. We hope to see you all again in 2024. For all of those that may be around Missoula and want to join us on an easy Blue Mountain run, we'll be meeting at the 365 trailhead at 0500 on Dec 19th.

As always be safe, have fun, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

Ryan and Josh
