Frozen Feet Challenge

Welcome to the first challenge of January 2025. When we started this challenge 8 years ago, we didn't have monthly challenges. In order to keep it fresh and keep people engaged we started monthly challenges about year number 3. Trying to come up with a new challenge every month for 5 years is a bit of a task. So each year we recycle a few of our favorite challenges. In January our friends at the local running store ,The Runners Edge, put on “The Frozen Feet Challenge”. The object of this challenge is to get outside every single day of January and log your miles. At times it seems like a big ask, but Mr. Plod and Pedal, Josh Pierce, has run every single day outside since 2018. That's nearly 3000 days of running outside. If it's -30 he's out there. If it's 1130 pm on New Years Eve with a few too many beers sloshing around his gut...he's out there. I've heard the same line cross his lips more times than I can count: "There's no bad weather. Only bad gear."

This month’s challenge is to run at least one mile (at 15 min/mile or less) or ride 3 miles OUTSIDE every day of the month of January 2025. Once you have completed the last day of the challenge, sign up for the event AND make sure to tag us in the comment section of your Strava run by typing @joshpierce and @ryanmellem. One lucky winner from the finishers of this monthly challenge will be drawn for the January prize. You can also sign up for the Runners Edge Frozen Feet Challenge if you’d like, but it is not necessary to be eligible for our challenge. The link to sign up for theirs is down below. Please reach out with any questions. As always, have fun, be safe, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
