Marching Orders

We've all heard that bad things come in 3's. Honestly, I couldn't agree more. My brother, the firstborn child, made my family a family of three and was a such a gigantic disappointment by the age of 3 that they decided to have me. Sure, he's smarter, better looking, and funnier, but everyone knows that the baby of the family is the favorite. Now, typically, people are superstitious of similar events occurring in threes (which probably makes sense why Dirty Di didn't continue procreating). The human brain is wired to recognize patterns and three is the smallest number to make a pattern. That's why when my dad "accidentally" lit me on fire while camping at the age of 9, he yelled at me to stop, drop, and roll. Examples of patterns of three are everywhere: "Stop, Look, and Listen", "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness", "Run, Bike, Swim"...you get the idea. The human mind loves a good pattern and so do we.

This months challenge is a good old fashioned March Trifecta. There are 3 events this month:

March 14th (Pie Day 5k)

March 17th (St. Patty's Day 10k)

March 21st (first day of Spring 10 miler)

You don't have to do all three, but the more you do the more entries you get. For every event you do we'll square the entries. So, one event gets one entry, 2 events gets four entries, and 3 events gets 9 entries. You may run or ride the event, but of course 3 ride miles equals 1 running mile. Once you have completed the challenge make sure to tag us in the comment section of your last qualifying activity by typing @joshpierce and @ryanmellem and let us know how many events that you did. One lucky winner from the finishers of this monthly challenge will be drawn for the March prize. Please reach out with any questions. As always, have fun, be safe, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
